UPDATE: I'm Back!

Tort and Insurance Law are my strong points, and I am going to try and jump into this area again (without neglecting the mind-numbing work of digesting Kentucky published appellate decisions etc at the Kentuck Court Report aka www.KyCases.com; the weekly advance sheets from the US Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals at www.SixthCircuitCases.com; and the law news at www.KentuckyLawBlog.com .)

I will have to crawl before walking and then jogging, but be patient.

Site News: I'm back!!!! After a silence of nearly 4 months, too.

I've been gone for nearly FOUR months from this site; putting all of my time and energy in www.KyCases.com (now among Blawgsearch's top ten), www.KentuckyLawBlog.com (a notoriously busy law and news blawg); and www.SixthCircuitCases.com (pretty self-explanatory with weekly posts digesting the 6th Cir.s decisions and links to full text).  The Louisville LawWire can also be found at http://kentuckylaw.typepad.com/louisville_lawwire/ (it does not have a separate domain URL but simply resides in typepad's shelves but with an RSS feed!).

For the short term, I am going to go through my case digests and pull the relevalt tort and insurance and trial practice cases, plus some news and developments to beef up the site again.

Have patience.

Wanted "dead or alive"; or at least finding out something more when can't be located

Should a party, client, or someone you need to contact in a case as a witness, heir, etc. pass away, you have some online resources available rather than a google (tm) search by name.

However, there are two useful and free web sites to get started - the "death" index from Kentucky and Social Security. 

• Kentucky Death Index from kygenweb.com
• Social Security Death Index  from Roots Web (note the actual index is not directly available through SSA but other online services have obtained the data and make it available)
• Obituaries from Legacy.com (useful for names of people who have died and their family members)
