Pending Changes to Sixth Circuit Rules 28(g) and 45(a)(7)

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals has voted to amend Sixth Circuit Rules 28(g) and 45(a)(7) as indicated in the hyperlinked text. As called for in Rule 47(a), interested parties shall have until December 20, 2006 to comment on the proposed changes. Rule 28(g) , Rule 45(a)(7) .

The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit announces the appointment of Daniel S. Opperman as United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan at Bay City. He assumes a new position created by the passage of P.L. 109-8. Judge Opperman joins Chief Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes, and Judges Marci McIvor, Phillip Shefferly Thomas Tucker and recalled Bankruptcy Judge Walter Shapero on the Eastern Michigan bankruptcy bench. CA6 News: Public Notice For Reappointment Of Bankruptcy Judge Charles M. Caldwell

The current 14-year term of office of United States Bankruptcy Judge Charles M. Caldwell of the Southern District of Ohio at Columbus is due to expire on May 25, 2007. The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit is presently considering whether to reappoint the incumbent bankruptcy judge to a new 14-year term of office.

Members of the bar and public are invited to submit comments for consideration by the Court of Appeals before it appoints him to a new term of office.
